Richard Wuensche Making Big Plans for KACC
May 5, 2015
Ardmore, OK (May 6, 2015) – Industry veteran Richard Wuensche, who joined KING AEROSPACE COMMERCIAL CORPORATION (KACC) as Vice President of Operations in September 2014, has been quietly making big plans for the company’s Ardmore, Oklahoma completion center. Wuensche brings 30 years of experience to KACC and plans to bring in more Boeing Business Jets (BBJs) for paint and refurbishment.
KACC has a long history of cabin refurbishment, avionics, maintenance and exterior paint of business aircraft, from light jets to large-cabin Bombardiers and Gulfstreams. Now the expansion begins, first with the recent exterior paint contract for a BBJ, and subsequent paint-shop approval of Boeing Business Jets. The company is actively courting owners and operators of BBJs in seeking contracts to do refurbishments and avionics in addition to paint.
Wuensche’s experience includes having served as Director of Operations at Association Air Center in Dallas, where he oversaw V VIP completion, including work on head-of-state 747-8 and 787 aircraft, as well as privately owned Airbus ACJ330s. Prior to his position at Associated, he was Avionics Manager at Gore Design Completion (now GDC Technics) in San Antonio, Texas.
A 12-year U.S. Navy veteran, Wuensche also has extensive airframe experience on five executive Boeing Business Jet models and four Airbus models, as well as numerous other aircraft from eight different business jet manufacturers. With his leadership abilities and extensive V VIP aircraft completion and modification experience, Wuensche is overseeing a significant growth plan in KACC’s refurbishment business.
“The way to get there is to keep doing what we are known for—complex paint jobs—and building a name for ourselves in other areas like avionics and refurbishments.” said Wuensche. “We have a proven track record in performing these services, but because of our boutique approach of only taking on a few projects at a time, we don’t have the level of name recognition as others. My goal is to help change that.”
