King Aerospace Attends its First MRO Latin America Conference

December 17, 2019

DALLAS, TX – In a nod to the growing reliance on aviation south of our border, King Aerospace will attend its first MRO Latin America in early 2020. The event will be held Jan 22-23 in Cartagena, Colombia. It is put on by Aviation Week.

“Operators need to upgrade their aircraft with the latest technology for optimal functionality as well as refurbish and elevate interiors,” says Jarid King, president of King Aerospace. “It’s about making aircraft the safest, most efficient transportation possible. That requires trained, next-gen technicians.”

The annual convention serves South America, Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean. It offers access to more than 400 aviation professionals and solution providers representing 25 countries. Speakers include management from Avianc, ALTON, Copa Airlines, StandardAero and AeroMexico. Topics will address the shortage of regional MRO capacity and how it drives up maintenance costs for airlines and adds complexity to fleet renewal plans. They’ll also address how new aircraft materials and a strong focus on software further complicate the MRO landscape. The event includes a facility tour of host sponsor Avianca’s Medellin MRO operation, an hour flight from Cartagena.

“We like that 85% of MRO Latin America attendees have purchasing power,” says King. “You’re interacting with decision-makers. For those looking for new solutions, we can offer ways to optimize MRO outsourcing.”
