Commemorative Air Force, welcome to Dallas!
June 3, 2014
On behalf of the KING AEROSPACE family of employees, we extend a warm welcome to the Commemorative Air Force, which relocate their national headquarters to Dallas Executive Airport later this year.
The CAF plans to have a facility comprised of two large hangars and an area for exhibits. The facility will have interactive displays, movies and a flight simulator. Five or more vintage warbirds will be based at the airport. The CAF headquarters staff will be moving to Dallas by the end of this year then, within about six month, exhibits will open. In about three years, the CAF hopes to open a museum. To do all of this, they will need to raise about $40 million.
But you don’t have to be in Dallas or Texas to appreciate this wonderful organization that restores and flies vintage war aircraft. The CAF is made up of members from all over the country that showcase beautifully restored vintage aircraft and participate in tours and airshows. But they also have another important mission: honoring our military men and women by commemorating the history of their service.
